The Day the Angels Smiled (for my Muse)

by badmalthus

It was your laugh
I wanted
to fuck first.

How it poured
from your throat
like some divine dance
filling my ears
with the burden
of passion.

It was your laugh
I wanted
to fuck first.

To hold it gently
& thrust my
whole being
deep inside until
so exhausted
I would sleep
for days.

It was your laugh
I wanted
to fuck first.

To swallow it down
way in my soul
& let it drown
all the darkness
that dwelt
within me.

It was your laugh
I wanted
to fuck first.

To bury seeds
of anticipation
in it’s soil
& watch your love
grow over me
like vines
of Eden.

It was your laugh
I wanted
to fuck first.

Hi badmalthus, I loved the chorus like interjection, it allows one to realise that when smitten by beauty, or a laugh in this case (guess one and the same thing), how your attention is polarised on that very entity or action, and if you could take a picture at that very second we'd look like Alice peering down the hole unable to stop ourselves from jumping, and thats why this was a good write, you conveyed that beautifully. Harry, your poem says something that this current world could do well to recognize, as some of us have known for donkeys years, a passion can start from the turn of a leg or a smirk, the curve of an ear or a hip or the sound of a sigh. As to the poem itself, I can only refer to an earlier piece of mine and say " fuck, I wish I'd written that". Cheers Mark

This poem is beautiful: like the first reaction to love itself, signifying an intense emotion wrought in complexity. Its tenacious breath is a burning tombstone inhaled by the jester that loves beyond the human spirit's average emotional capacity. A couple binded by fervor drink up beauties in the eyes of a playful laugh.
