The Shattered Mirror

by astaniga

She stood in the room of mirrors
Each reflecting her pain and mistakes
She searched for a way out but in vain
The guilt and sorrow deep within
Cracks the shining surface around
As each shattered piece stabs her
Bleeding-- she wakes with a scream
Sweat breaks out as she stumbles
Cold water forces her to face reality
Each night brings a new dream, a new fear
She wonders if it'll ever end
Afraid to sleep but too tired to stay up
Her life's her biggest nightmare and worse
Looking around she sees a broken glass
And in one swift moment she ends it all
As the deep red colours the water
She finally sleeps, peaceful atlast

'Afraid to sleep but too tired to stay up' to quote your moving poem. I've been there it's like a torture you can't get out of. This hurts it's too real for me cos it's so like similar situations I've been in. Still a good read.

Don't forget to keep trying to smile Laughing

Like an echoeing cry for help this reads, my friend. A nightmare brought to life in a truly poignant poem of intense emotion in the mirror. Best wishes, my friend. Mary Ann

Very Poetically
Creative,
Karishma.

A Poem that people
will relate when they
face Dark and
Lonely Days drifting
Sadness with a Cold,
Bitter Heart.

Sorry
about that. I was in my
little Creative Zone as
well. Really enjoyed
reading Poem. Even though
it's a Sad, Dark
Poem.

Great imagery, especially with the first line. This is intense! I love the way you talk about mirrors in the begining and then end it with glass, because it brings the poem together really nicely.
