I am Sorry

I am sorry

I
…Why did I insulted my mother?
Why did I, can you tell me mister?
Why did I desdained some others,
My brother my friends, my sister?
Who am I to scorn, to scold, demean?
Who am I to feel greater than myself?
Why do I say what I do not mean?
Why do I place myself up on a shelf?
II
I have built strings I cannot untie;
Remorse is heavier, my heaviest weight.
I can't go on, I lay burdened where I lie
With conscious guilt that cannot wait
To be released, to be once more
What I once was, a person clean
Of pains and sorrows that now soar
Beyond the love I once have seen.
III
That remorse, strong as acid
Corroded in vain my spirit
A pair of hands right on my throat
Shoking the air for the life I bid,
The lost hope of my own merit,
A butterfly of love I once caught.
IV
Let me call, tell or write a letter,
I must let them know I care.
I loved them, yes, indeed I do.
I must overcome for the better
The arrogance and pride I bear.
I am sorry, kneeung l say to you.
V
Forgive me, I did not mean to be
What in my soul I am not.
Forgive me, for all the things I said;
There were words not from me
But from my ego those evil thoughts,
The selfish actions it braids.
VI
Forgive me, your hand I need
Forgive me, so I may end my worry.
Plant in me again the love's seed
And let me say again, I'am sorry.
