I don't know what a senbazuru is, but the idea of bringing in the paper cranes is brilliant.

    thanks ozymandias. Senbazuru is the tradition of folding 1000 oragami cranes as a gift for loved ones.

    I grew up in Vancouver, and there's a large and vibrant Asian community there, as well as in Victoria where I currently live, so I have had lots of exposure to Japanese and other asian cultures.
