Some things we never learn.

by PTROCK4950

How can we turn it off when it was never on?
How can we exit now if we really never entered?
Will we be able to continue with hope gone?
Have we been consumed by our own hatred?

Nothing's left to do, to ponder on,
the streak of lights is quickly dimming.
The wind of change has lost its strength,
there is a breeze of hot air streaming.

Who can resist the will of whom
will take it all without remorse,
fighting for rights and freedom
clueless of the meaning of the words.

We want control of what we take,
but aren't able to control ourselves,
if riches give us so much power,
why are we so powerless?

Tell me everything you keep inside,
don't hold back you'll keep regretting,
everything I see around now are lies,
honesty is dead or changed its meaning.

Oh! You are so good, don't you know?
So basted in your glory,
self righteousness can carry you,
yeah, go on without a worry.

In the mean time some grow old
some others grow even wearier,
it's all the same the end result,
most of us become so bitter.

All want to change the world,
most want to change their luck,
don't we realize we are in it?
Must we be part of the flock?

Lend me your ears and close your eyes,
why do we listen, what do we follow?
Are we too lazy to walk through a maze?
Or just too scared to trip fall into a sorrow?

G'day Pete...
Have you put music to these lyrics yet? I like the questioning
so I imagine that you would finish the song by repeating the first verseto finish. Of course that's only my imagination. It is a nice set of lyrics.
Thanks Pete

    Hello Lindsay,

Thanks again for taking the time to read.

This is still in the unfinished pile, originally I gave it a very basic, sort of generic music but was not satisfied with it so just put it aside for a while (much like mostly everything else I have going).
You make a good suggestion and I appreciate it, will definately try it.
