Poems - Mind Games

Mind Games

I walk mindless within my cob webs
My mind is laughing at me inside.
I cannot tell where this path ends
Running as I go with nowhere to hide.

My mind relentlessly tortures me
Giving me a false hope in a sadistic way.
Amplifying its will to defy me again
I cannot function, I refuse with much delay.

I hear the footsteps of a shadowy figure
I say over and over, it is just my mind.
Shaking my head as my vision is blurred
My sanity is something I will need to find.

Running….
And running…

(Gasping for air)

Falling to my knees, pulling on my hair
Choking on the denial of a cunning game.
Sweat rolls down my trembling lips
This is not right, my thoughts are to blame.

Running….
And running….

(Gasping)
(Whispers in the air)

Caught in my webs, my body goes limp
Listening to the laugh, sounding so vile.
The whispers tell me it’s all in my mind
My face finds a will to form an eerie smile.
