Fargo Some Time Ago

Fargo Sometime Ago

Staring out the window is all
I can think to do
Unobstructed sky reaches out
Further than I’ve seen before
My consciousness goes further

I want to turn it upside down
Like an umbrella making sky hold water
Only so I can backstroke instead of
Float out the fourth floor window
Away from this city I’ve never been

Return to the music, dance and drinking
Waters we left for awhile
You are close behind, I feel you sharing a breath
Trying to catch me
But the fever, morphine, shivers and shakes

Are slowing you down
Reaching the surface first, gasping upon
The first rush of air entering your lungs
Calling my name after the second
Remembering first what I just begun to forget

THE SKY IS THE SKY

this poem flowed well for me, but i must admit to feeling like it has meaning i missed...sometimes i just don't get it, but i did particularly like the 2nd stanza!
