Poems - Regrets

Regrets

by MoZark

My grandson gave me a coffee mug
For Christmas
It was a cowboy boot with a
Six-shooter handler
It’s my favorite I said and hugged him
He was bright with smiles,
He was nine.
It was sometime later I told him
I broke it; he smiled
I thought you didn’t like it,
He was twenty.

Oh boy... what a poignant beauty this is on the passage of time, my friend. I surely hope all is well where you are - this morning I'm watching news of terrible weather and even tornadoes touching down in Missouri. Please drop a line if you can...

Meanwhile, sending you all my best wishes, Mary Ann

One never knows what kids keep locked in his (her) head then let it out when you least expect it. I wish I could remember all those little things the kids come up with but I’m lucky to remember dinner. Again thank you, I enjoyed reading it again.
    Have a grand tomorrow…Jack

I loved this. I can see it vividly in my mind, as if it were my own memories. It is so interesting to see how people perceive things, especially children. Especially so in retrospect as they grow. This will linger with me. Thank you. Wink
