Noble Notions

Noble Notions

Our theatre speaks of honor
We live bye laws and codes
Romanticizing notions
In books, songs and odes

But when we live our lives in fact
I wonder what it means
Have we moral ground to stand
As decent human beings

Do we share our planet?
With those less well off
Or does our wealth and status
Over others make us scoff

The words of love and honor
are the wisdom of our age
The saving grace of our past text
And will be in the very next page
