Poems - meat

meat

by omegapaf

" even the jungle wanted him dead....and that's who he really took his orders from " - captain willard - apocolypse now.

turned my mind around
when my tall ship went down and my soul was drowned
around and around, till i was found

we dragged it back from the brink
though it began to stink.....and wasn't so pink
why do they hate us in afganistan?
because we became the 70's....we are the man.

" before the falling of the west......fire " - stuart adamson.

A great poem and a very timely one. Yes, we are becoming VietNam. I do hope we get out of there before we destroy everything know as human value.

fighting wars in countries that most people can't point at on a map. i thought we might have progressed beyond that by the 21st century.....apparantly not - are we destined to repeat vietnam, because we don't remember it? - paul and the pacifist hound.

Yeah... and unfortunately we don't understand any more than the Russians did about biting off more than one can chew.

I didn't miss the anniversary of Iraq, either - I stood out in the cold Wishkah wind until I wished I'd die yesterday. I didn't write anything about the forgotten war ('er occupation).

Nicely done, Paul - Mary Ann

well done mary ann. some of us have to stand out in the cold to remind the warm comfy people that we are still there, and not to get too comfy in their complacency. england seems to be lining up it's next war with argentina after afganistan. over the falkland islands again.....could it possibly be because oil has been discovered there??? or is england just fighting countries in alphabetical order ha ha.....at least zambia should be safe for a while - peace puppy.

peace is just a word ali star. but a very important word. like love and death. some words don't matter. these words are mostly spoken by polititions, who spend 15 billion pounds on nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers while closing the childrens library and local hospital - paul and the politically radical pup.

This is the end beautiful friend. This is the end my only friend, the end.
Of our elaborate plans, the end. Of everything that stands, the end.
No safety or surprise, the end. I'll never look into your eyes again.

Can you picture what will be so limitless and free? Desperately in need of some stranger's hand in a desperate land .

Lost in a Roman wilderness of pain. And all the children are insane, all the children are insane, waiting for the summer rain.

G'day Paul...
It's so easy to get involved in these modern crusades, but how in the hell do you get out of them. Is Iraq any better off now?
Thanks Paul.

indeed lindsay. that's the trouble with crusades. how do you know when you've won or lost. i don't think they are any happier in iraq now. probably in a years time they will be wishing that gadaffi was back in libya. they hear all this crap about democracy and end up with the most corrupt government they ever had. we had six hundred years of democracy and ended up with david cameron......eeeeerrrrr????...you don't even have to listen to david cameron, just look at him with the sound off and think " would i lend that man any money? or buy him a drink? " - i'm sure there will be more meat in afganistan before we are finished with that poor place - paul and peace pup.
