Poems - 9/11 Anniversary.

9/11 Anniversary.

Ten years... since that dark day
The world was in shock
And stopped for that hour,
Blue skies turned dark
With clouds of debris,
With the collapse of the first twin tower.
It's still hard to imagine the horror, suffering and pain
As you lay that wreath, or a flower
Humanity can be great,
But in recent times it's become quite sour.
The two towers
Symbolised world trade
In many ways a global village,
On which on that day on 9/11
A few fanatics set out to pillage.
They took a great many lives
Men, women, black and white
Christians, Muslims, Jews,
And innocent passengers on the flight.
There was plenty of courage on that day
Heroes that hadn't knew they had it in them
But when it was needed the courage emerged,
The kind of courage that turns boys into men... .
