A random poem of mine
Anoressico

“Elaina, i’ve brought you lunch.
It’s your favorite,
a small salad and water.”

“Thank you, Pamela.
You’re the best little sister ever.”

“No, i’m not! Just look at you!
I can see your bones, Elaina.
You can barely breathe.
You haven’t much time left.
Have you really been happy?”

“For the most part.
But i’d give anything
if i could break
my own rules, and eat something
fattening for once in my life.”

“I’ll fix it, big sister,
whatever you want.
I’ll make a pizza as big as the sky.
I’ll prepare pies as thick as a house.
I’ll bake a cake two stories high,
If you only say the word.”

“No. I’d like some dressing with this salad.”

“Elaina, please,
i’m begging you, eat!
I don’t want you to die
The way mother did!
I’ll feed you cookies until you puke.
I’ll make enough pudding to fill swimming pools,
I’ll steal ambrosia away from the gods,
If you only say the word.”

“Maybe a slice of bread would be nice.”

“Elaina, you are killing yourself!
I love you too much to do this to you.
I’ll fix you a sandwich as long as your legs,
I’ll put on wings and be your flying angel,
I’ll get on my hands and knees to kiss you,
If you only say the word.”

“I’m not hungry anymore.”

sapphicmuse's recent Blog entry. That First Time Feeling ( 19 reads) Thursday, November 19, 2009 (18:48:28)

I've just experienced something for the first time: My first poetry rejection. Apparently, my two newest pieces aren't quite good enough for Poetry Magazine.
That's alright. While I respectfully disagree with their opinion, I do find it a thrill to have someone with connections actually take a look at my stuff.

Most all of the time, I find myself humming a tune in my head that matches a situation that I'm currently in. I know which song I'll be singing today:

"Well on the way,
head in a cloud,
the man of a thousand voices
talking perfectly loud.

But nobody ever hears him
or the sound he appears to make,
and he never seems to notice.

But the fool on the hill
sees the sun going down
and the eyes in his head
see the world spinning 'round."- The Beatles, "Fool On The Hill"
