Getting connected...


We have seen, created a lust
what this love has done to us
as the world whips around
unforgiving as the sea
churning things apart
spreading our fragments
into unknown parts
unfamiliar now
only you and I can tell
what lies ahead
seems so mislead
no guiding light
to make our future bright
darken paths, broken dreams
broken promises tear at the seams
Oh god only knows
of what our fate beholds
struggling thoughts
of what being together has brought
will the time come, for us to meet
or will it be over, worst yet, be incomplete!
wrapped up in emotional direction
of what others have said in their own projection
some of you are laughing
others are clapping
being 50, and you then some
it's hard enough for us to get things done
but no matter what, though all our sighs
if nothing else arises, our love still pries
to freeing itself, one way or another
our hearts will meet, to love and smother
we'll fight this thing through to the very end
until there's nothing left for us to do
except to be long distance friends.
