Dixie Rose and Blue at Home on the Farm

This posting is a little bit late… the horses came home on March 4th!!

A lot has been going on around here since the horses finally arrived. I’m glad to say that Dixie Rose and Blue have settled in quite nicely and seem to love their new barn and nice, big green pasture.

The horses went through a two-week transition from being fed hay and alfalfa to being able to graze on grass to their heart’s content. Actually, with all the rain we had it took more like three weeks. Just to explain - if horses aren’t gradually transitioned from one kind of feed to another it can result in serious digestive problems, so we took it quite seriously, slowly and cautiously.

Anyway, all is well with both horses even though out in the pasture Blue seemed to never stop eating… while Dixie Rose would eat for awhile and then stop and just gaze around at her surroundings. Obviously each horse is an individual… almost like people, lol!

So, here they are at home… Very Happy

First day in the pasture

I read your page at the start of my day and thought of keeping it reserve to till the end of the day. I want to enjoy my day by imbibing the philosophy mentioned there in. Just great- and I am really fortunate that I found you.

Wishing everyone on GotPoetry a very Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays, as the case may be) and a very safe, fulfilling and peaceful New Year. Smile

I ditto what Hugh said: may the conscience of GP serve us strength and compassion.

Elect redemption to sever dark intuition.
The night is strung to light; no inhibition.

      Lots of love.

Ahh..Mary Ann, Hello! Been a long time since I've been able to back on this site to read and hopefully write something and post again. I can see why writers need to go live in a solitudinal (Oh...I LOVE to make up my own 'julie-language' ) cabin in the deep woods to get inspired. in the last year I've had teeny tiny bits of inspiration, but if I can't act on them right at that second...they are gone with a resigned sigh.
Yours are among the poems that I want to read first. You never disappoint me. Loved your thoughts about your kitties. We've recently acquired a Yellow Maine Coon called Cornflake, who is the most loving cat I've ever had. However...if he does NOT learn to 'cover his tracks' more appropriately in his litter box......... Rolling Eyes I asked him..."Where in H--L WERE you when your Mama was instructing you on the fine art of 'litter-pan hygiene'????" I'm getting tired of running in there and scratching around!!! MEEOWWWWW!
LOL...luv ya MaryAnn. Thanks for attaching your photos, too! Pritty Kittys. Very Happy
