Coat-Hanger Boy

Yesterday, I saw a tiny boy with coat hanger sharp knees, swathed in a grey baggy uniform and a hat that swamped his bright sunflower curls
He was on a footpath with his bag-laden mum, and a few seconds away from the school he broke her grip like...

Lunch is 14 metres away and Rising

In the darkness before a new day
The cowering small towns hunker down, waiting
Fallen trees embrace the landscape
Windmills of leaves swirl and smack at windowpanes
And the clouds chest bump high above with brutal disregard for the bruises...
