head is pounding
i graze my hand over the cork board
a collage of potential answers
though nothing connects
to solve the mystery
of
the parasite that never sleeps inside its host

countless hours of detective work
hasn't prepared...

i had the most vivid imagery from this poem, and i loved how the author represented mascara as many things (often many dark/sad things), and even though i don't wear makeup often it felt very relatable/resonating
