66 years old. Handicapped. Writting poems for 19 years. None published. Wrote poetry book, ( Inside looking out ) was drug addict and alcoholic; now sober for 20 years. Was retail manager For years. Married, had two boys. Oldest died in 2007 of O.D. wife left me after that.

Natgiri Trail

A forbidden road
Barely noticed, calls me neigh
To Natgiri Trail.

Gnarled trees stand guard
Near its visceral dark steps
With boisterous wails.

Fog obscures its view
Thus, masking each step of doom
For the ignorant.

Deeper and deeper

The wind blows light

  The evergreen;
A mountain's view

  Yet so serene.
Its stillness stirs

  A tranquil mind,
That helps to quell

  My weary grind.

A young bird to

  Its mother calls,
