Chelle uses her free time to work on her most long lasting passions: videos games and art; drawing to writing and back to the interesting stories that video games provide. She started experimenting with poetry in 2017 and has been reading poets from a young age with her two main favorites being Edgar Allen Poe and Charles Baudelaire.

I am Rin of the Benyia

Clan Hagakure I originate
The only survivor,
Of a village consumed in ash and fire
Leaving my now destroyed village,
I travel by boat.

I sit with this burning in my throat
Tears threaten to fall from the pillage
If only we knew of this...

I felt that this poem flowed amazingly and held a fun amount of existential dread. I am excited to read the 'about this poem section' to see what inspired this.

What I picked up was the tranquility this individual had in knowing their place in this strange existence, was soon over shadowed by worry and self doubt of that knowledge, thanks to the observation of their memories. Then those thoughts were shot down by a comforting realization that their mere existence was enough to prove those questions did not matter.

How've close my interpretation is or not I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. Well done I say!
