I think this shows getting older very well. Years do seem to pass so much faster than they ever did when I was younger.

That kind of love is hard to come by. Your poem touched me deeply, as I have always wanted that connection. The ins and outs of love and relationships are difficult to navigate sometimes. Opening your eyes to another person's view, especially a person that to some others is very horrifying, makes for an interesting read.
When someone has hurt and anger that they don't know how to deal with, and an avenue for easy relief is presented with pretty pictures and promises of beauty, it's no wonder how someone is taken in by that. more »

The self realization at the end that what had been done to the writer had been dealt to the person that had helped them through it really touched me. It is difficult to admit you hurt someone. Very well written! more »
