Without a speck of light
The waves crash around me
I'm drowning as I fight

The world is caving in and I'm grasping for my breath
The storm is raging high and I'm yearning for some rest

The days are lost, the...

Speaking with the Demons

I stare in my hand and the pills sitting there
I lift my head to the mirror and see a blank stare

It's as if my eyes see straight to my soul
Death isn't the answer. It's not the end goal

These shackles and chains are ever so heavy
My soul...

When I Rise

In the morning, when I rise
I will shed all of the anchors, restraints and the ties
I will face the day with pride and no fear
I will face the day with friends and family near

I am astounded by your work. So powerful. I have a similar tone in my work and would love your feedback. I've only written a handful of poems, so I am still learning. Thanks in advance.

Very straightforward and it's nice.

I'm just starting out and have a few poems posted. I'd love some constructive criticism on my work.

I love this one, too! Such a magnificent talent to portray the struggles and blessings of being a parent.

I'm just starting out. I shared a poem on social media and had many encouraging me to publish. Right now, they are just words on a page, but I am writing from the heart with raw emotion.

Let me know if you have time to read my new poems and give me some feedback. I really am brand new to this and need some direction.
