Analysis of Sane
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
If you feel invincible, well then
You're strong enough
To handle all of my affliction.
If you think I'm crazy, go ahead and laugh.
I've got evidence to prove I'm sane.
You can come around to fuck anytime.
I've got no plans, no place to go.
But please, don't hurt me with your arrows.
I'm barely holding on, as you're well aware.
Our love's been battered and bruised.
It's a wonder it's still alive at all.
But we keep holding on,
Refusing to acknowledge.
Afraid to just put it down.
Please, don't release the sky on me
Don't leave me here to suffer, unaided
If you go, I'll be lost
Broken, abandoned, turned to stone
