Analysis of BEFORE MY LORD'S HAND
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
BEFORE MY LORD'S HAND
Where does the good man stand
When trapped in the enemy's land
When lost are my gains
Under the weight of chains
Lost in my pains?
Can I stand straight in the wind
That tears my world apart again
When the waters rise
And flood my eyes
I keep stumbling over lies
Lightning strikes with a threatening roar
Shakes my foundation to the core
So breaks my pride
I can't seem to decide
So I try to hide
The wind scours the land
Fills the air with sand
Their twisted lies
Under dreary skies
Ruin my disguise
So I stand, stand as the storm rages
The enemy strikes the rock of ages
In faith I can stand
As they flee the land
Before my Lord's hand
AMEN

About this poem
Isiah 25 4 You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall
