Analysis of HOLY IS MY LORD!

Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)

HOLY IS MY LORD!

They push my back against the wall
Sneering, "this time you're gonna fall!"
They have guns I can't defy
Seems I'm gonna die
So I strain my fragile vocal chord
Yelling, " HOLY HOLY IS MY LORD!"

The fire starts to burn
No Salvation here to earn
Her sin is bought and paid
She stands there unafraid
Through the flames she loudly roared
"HOLY, HOLY IS MY LORD!"

They stand on the arena floor
And hear the lions roar
Through the shouts of hate
The Roman's lift the gate
They fight hate with love they stored
Crying,"HOLY, HOLY IS OUR LORD!"

The fire of hate always rages
Consuming believers through the ages
But in our final desperate stands
We see our Savior's torn hands
So we cry in one accord
"HOLY, HOLY IS OUR LORD!"
AMEN

About this poem

Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. Mark 13 11
