The Joy of Christmas

The break of dawn the day has begun
This blessed day will be full of fun
The days of past we will not fear
It's time to share our Christmas cheer

For whom do we celebrate this special day
Jesus is the reason the only way
Don't get caught up in joy and laughter
His gift of salvation is what we're after

We cook and clean and wait for guests
Making sure everything looks it’s best
The food and drinks, the laughs we share
As the joy of Christmas fills the air

Christmas night and it's getting late
I can't believe all the food we ate
The grownups are full, the children tired
Hard to believe this day has expired

As we lay down our heads to rest
We ponder what part of the day was best
Was it our family we waited to see
Maybe that special gift under the tree
