The day that he died

A grudge against God, for over thirty years,
as much as I loved him, I still had my tears

A life barely lived, my brother was gone,
not knowing what to do, I felt like a pawn

A hollowness of spirit, filled my waking soul,
missing the main ingredient, and I was the bowl

An explosion of anger, came from deep within,
my fists against a wall, was the only way to win

Black and blue were the colors, that I knew so well,
my heart had been stolen, and locked in a cell

Lost in this world, with nowhere to go,
I still looked to Jesus, I wanted him to know

Darkness and light, they both knew my name,
emotionally numb, with feelings of shame

No happiness or joy, there is nothing inside,
all of this started, the day that he died
