My begging as a child
I cannot remember nor recall
When and how it all started or began
Though my parents and relatives know
But the day and the moon witnessed it
That I since that minute and hour
Inherited but the world
For here I am, a child.
Yes I am a child
Though I sometimes properly cannot walk
Here are my feet that I trust
In you that you may lead me
Yes to that place in life you live
‘Till firm and strong they become
I beg you not to drag me by them.
Yes I am a child
I sometimes cannot hear
Here are my ears I give
Unto you that you may tell me
Give good command of your cherished work
‘Till I can hear and emulate or imitate
But I beg you not to pull me by them.
When I walk during the day
And my days look like nights
Here are my hands I give
Trusted in you for guidance
I beg you not to pull me by them
Nor even push them away
For I am a child.
I beg you to teach me to see with my eyes like you
To hear with my ears like you
I beg you to teach me to talk through my mouth like you
To walk by my feet like you
I beg you teach me to work by my hands like you
Yes for I am a child
I am ready to learn.
