The trouble we create for ourselves
Gaurav Pant 2001 (India)
Assuming to be the center of the universe
The lead of some great story
Ignoring - might be some side character
Often trying to control
Often trying to direct
Creating extra burden - the expectations
Unnecessary evil, root of problems
most of the time we create ourselves
Happiness disappear and stress arise
The mirror displayed a tilted image
Sometimes not meant for us
Sometimes we're mere spectators
Understand and accept the truth
Happiness would be the divine fruit...
About this poem
The idea of being the center of the universe is pure bullshit. Sometimes we are just the side characters of someone else’s story. People just forget this and often try to control other people lives as they are someone important. We do not have any right to decide the fate of someone else or how the storyline must go on. People always try to trap themselves in the vague idea of being the leader of the story thus loading their minds with unnecessary expectations. Do you know what is the root of our problems most of the time? These expectations we create for ourselves. These expectations block our happiness. These took our peace of mind. When we fail to achieve those expectations we tend to lose self-esteem. We begin to view ourselves as some failure. We must not fall for this arrogance. We must not assume ourselves as some king of the whole world and everything happening is connected with us. Most of the time we are mere viewers of someone else’s story. Most of the time it is not meant for us to have any expectations. Unless or until we deal with these unnecessary expectations we can’t live our life happily. more »
