EMOTIONS
Nimisha Kaul 1984
Here is how the books define
A natural instinctive state of mind
We feel these creatures in and out,
Yet they seem something we barely know about
What is happiness and what is sorrow?
Our response to today that influences our tomorrow?
What role do they play in our lives?
How much is enough, how little would suffice?
Perceptions and judgments, hormones n enzymes
They act like the wind to the emotional chimes
Naïve like a baby, with the wind it sways,
The intensity defines the music it plays
A stroke of breeze plays it steady and calm
A gush of wind, and it rattles like an alarm.
Breezes are pleasant, they don’t do much harm.
But what keeps it strong amidst the storm?
A firm foundation to the wall
A robust thread that holds it all
The foundations are values and morals we build
The thread is the mind, vulnerable or skilled…
But hey, there’re limitations for everything known..
The strength of your thread has a threshold zone.
So enjoy those breezes and sway around
Stay away from the storms that make you lose your grounds.
When? How? That’s tough to say.
As easy as a poem.. haha no way!
