The Autumn Wind Blows
The autumn wind blows; winnowing the leaves off of trees, as it does so ever onward.
I wonder why the willows weep...
What could possibly wrench the tears from a tree?
Are they always crying, or do they sleep?
How long has it been since that tree came to be?
Why do raindrops make the crops grow?
Why, in fact, does the autumnal wind blow?
Steady runners rivers...
Flowing...coursing through the earth they cleave.
Leaving no doubt...
Partners since been being!
Never leave each other sold out they found out together.
Never seen apart.
No one's seen one start.
We're only here for a little while, caught up in a breeze, being winnowed like we're leaves; as the autumn wind blows, in through windows, and then we're gone.
