The Road Back

Living in this world
Try to be brave
Though I'm frightened

Fumbling in the dark
With no idea
Of where my light is

Stranger could you spare a bit of kindness
And light the road that brings me back to love?

A hero from a dream
I had a name
In times forgotten

Though my skin was oak
I fell because
My roots let rot in

I do my best not to come back here often
So light the road that brings me back to love

I am not alone
I feel the strength
Of those around me

Helps me to recall
That this old tank
Is not yet empty

I'll spare a bit of oil of they'll let me
To light the road that brings them back to love
