The day my world stood still
I can no longer hear the birds chirping
I stopped hearing the rain fall
The leaves no longer rustle
The sky started to fall
The sun is not setting
The moon is not rising
The world stopped turning
But my head is still spinning
My thoughts are no longer formed
My heart is empty
The day my world stood still
I caught a glimpse of everything that is no longer real

About this poem

I wrote this poem after my dad’s passing on September 27, 2021 from Covid Pneumonia.
