I amongst the We
I amongst the we
When I merge in society, or am part of an eclectic group of people, I seldom search for the real and distinct- “I amongst the diverse and concerted, we”.
Just like, the pensive wharf or a musing riverbank, is fervently in quest of ascertaining its own humble identity, I too am like the miniscule stalk who wishes to be set free from the arresting fetters of banally entwining branches, and the affixed, possessive, and vapid, trees.
The stamens bear the pollen, and assist in reproduction of the sprightly flowers, that add pulchritude to the ungainly forests. But am I vivacious, like the colorful petals, or like an unexacting butterfly, who extracts the sweet nectar from nature, through its gregarious halts and hopping, spree?
Or am I like an unfledged bird, struggling hard to take flight in the lonesome, unsparing, and calling skies?
I live in a villa, amidst the frowzy shantytowns of discolor, and I am a virtuoso in my particular field. But exactly, who am I? – A noble and discreet persona, or an eccentric erudite of lofty status and pitiable diffusive capacities.
As I waddle vainly on the lost city streets, the vulpine gazes of the plebian folks, judge me by my attire and gait. But am I not like an inconsequential wad, searching for a treasure of refulgence, repose, and benediction, amidst the worldly fervor?
As I think, appraise, and ponder, a waft of cool breeze greets me with a friendly Hello, and says to me that you are like me- a humble molecule of this brightened earth: stolid, vibrant, peppy, and indispensable!
So, don’t weigh the “I amongst the we”, as in a macrocosmic lens of universality, we are the congregated summation of the discrete and hallowed, I’s, that make the global and fraternal, we!
