Letting Go

God saw that I was lonely,                                                                                           God saw that I was blue,                                                                          so from the very heavens                                                                           God sent me you.                                                                                       I was the first to love you,                                                                           I was the first to care,                                                                                  I was the first to know you were even there.                                   And through the years I watched you grow into a man,                                         although you say your life was hard son                                                 I did the best I can                                                                                    And now you say you will marry                                                                  this fills my heart with joy                                                                                         I have always wanted the best for my little boy                                   no matter where you wander                                                              no matter where you roam                                                                 In my heart son, you will always have a home                                          I was the first to love you!

About this poem

this poem was written for my son when he grew up and moved out! I had so many feelings inside that I needed to put them on paper!
