It Was Day
I couldn't catch myself, I fell too far, from a rhythm lost in waves
For days, I stayed, I prayed, couldn't get through, to my dismay
The ripples, the side effects, God it left internal scares
Reached for the heavens, deep inside I was a star
By far, I hear the screams, the dreams they cloud the night
Nightmares in my vision, clouding up the light
The rain, it poured for hours, until the flood rushed in
Get my life back together, I don't even know, where I should begin
There's love, or so we claimed, the fights out wayed the memories
She's sick of me, no destiny, tornado in the sky, now, truly the death of me
It's I, no We, no team, that drowned, within the quicksand
Steam rolled into the battles, buried deep into our hands
Couldn't see past the wars, we created the fear we see
Tamed the loved once lived, there's no way to get free
Silence speaks so loud, loud, we can hear her call
We pushed the limits broken, and lost them by nightfall
Standing face to face, eyes locked in, but blind through all the hate
Separation is where we're headed, if separation isn't too late
Close our eyes, and breathe deep, maybe it'll go away
We thought that we were dreaming, but realized, it wasn't night, it was day...
