Welcome To My Show

Swimming in a sea of pain
sometimes living seems like such a drain
peaceful sleep is so eluding
not breathing might be somewhat soothing

I feel so scarred and damaged
putting on the happy face is how I've
managed
to hide in plain sight
pretending I'm alright

Scared if people really saw me
that they would finally see
I'm just a fraud
and nothing to applaud

Torn and tattered
do I really matter
just an actress in a play
that's on instant replay
I feel this rerun's run its course
time to cancel this show,
it feels so morose

This hole is so deep
and the jagged edges are so steep
all I can do is close my eyes tight
and pray everything will be alright

Time to go
to finish the final show
putting on the mask once more
for all to adore
