Overlooking The Obvious
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
To overlook not to notice the obvious.
Either purposely to ignore or not mention.
Is forgivable as a mistake to make.
Although difficult is it repeatedly to believe,
Anyone would choose the same mistake...
Made to excuse the doing of it.
As if it should be ignored.
To then argue over mistakes others make.
With this to say,
'If God made everything so perfect?
Who is it to know and claim to say,
Which mistakes were made repeatedly?
As if nothing from them is being learned!'
'I'm listening to hear what you are saying.
But what is the lesson,
An habitual mistake maker learns?'
'You tell me.
You keep saying I make the same mistakes.
And you not me,
Seem not to have learned a thing...
About repeating what it is I do.
Over and over again.
As if to me you are hoping to prove,
This is what you do is using common sense.
And anyone who had common sense,
Wouldn't try to convince anyone what it was...
They are suppose to have.
Without proof or evidence of it!'
'If I enjoy making mistakes,
Not to learn from them.
What does that matter to you?
However...
I can tell you right now,
You are annoying me perfectly!'
'So...
Are you saying,
What I think is happening between us?'
'Not yet.
But if you keep walking away,
Nothing you will hear me say...
Will cause you to think,
About anything happening between us!'
'You are missing an opportunity!'
'And thank you for reminding me,
Just how good God is.'
