Don’t Cry

Don’t cry I told myself.
Take life with a smile.
The pain from being lonely
Will be gone in just a while.

It really wouldn’t be so bad,
If I had someone to talk to.
My life seems empty.

I go for walks alone at night,
Wishing you were there.
I think of you all the time,
Just hoping that you care.

Don’t cry I told myself,
In pain without a tear.
I’ve always loved you,
And I always will.
Still wishing you were here,
To ease the pain of a lonely heart,
To share love again.
Though things will never be the same,
I’ll always be your friend.

If ever you are in need of company,
I’ll come and never ask why,
Then when you’ve gone,
And I am alone,
I’ll tell myself
Don’t cry.
