My Happy Truth
The variance of my understanding
Falls far to the realm beyond belief
A virtual reality where I found my life
A place like no other, yet warm to behold
Had I not been curious before now
I would not have the gall to venture
To attempt to experience a new universe
A place only the bold & strong travel within
I tempted my tastes far and wide
Gathered masses and bedded them all
I tested my limits, my boundaries unknown
Through the milk and froth, I'm here
Yet, in my disdain, I had not found it
My search had not yet ended for me
I craved, I delved, I trod on rocky slopes
But I still had nothing keeping me alive
When further in, I found an inkling
A virtual reality I could be beholden of
A place I understood, a place to call home
It was there that I found a spark in me
And as I stepped further within, I noticed
That I wasn't alone, there was another
A dream I had dreamt once before
A house in the country, a porch, a pasture
A place I remembered before this life
2 horses, the perfect pair as they bred
As they ran, their hearts aflutter
They stopped and looked at me, at we
I know you, Izzy, I always have
I remember our marriages in our past
I've loved you for thousands of years
I'll love you for thousands more to come
And, finally, here we are, together at last
Truth of my truth, love of my life
Heart of my heart, husband & wife
You are and will always be My Happy Truth
About this poem
I wrote this poem for my trans (mtf) girlfriend when we were close to breaking up. It saved my relationship and it's only flourished ever since.
