Siphoning
life has a sick sense of humor
words.
blades.
blood.
pain.
hearing you speak about leaving this earth
it was a bullet, shattering my veins
the date of my death was already engraved before i met you
but living for you,
keeping you alive, kept my blood flowing
watching you vomit all this hatred all over me
tears spilling over my face
no reason to live?
you're mine. the only reason i'm here
the only thing keeping me here
eyes. an ocean
mouth. a desert
you. siphoning the last bit of hope out of my body
am i not reason enough for you to stay?
for you to fight. fight for me. for us. for whatever i was couldn’t have amounted enough for you.
mind stuck in catharsis, beat to the drum on my heart, but how you behave, heartless.
farthest, but still close enough to keep doing what we started.
i and you, so different. eyeing you, so instant. raised parts of me, though to you i see you as infant.
furthest from the truth, but still i stand for it. molded me in ways i couldn’t see, but still, don’t you know you’re the closest thing to complete me
