THE FAMILY BRIDE

MARUFUL ISLAM 1963 (Bangladesh)

The family bride isn't afraid of the venomous snake
Or daunted by the untimely death of her partner
On the bridal bed.
She has turned herself into an expert sharp shooter
Who can stop her now on land, water or air?
When someone is pushed to the wall
Doesn't she  become an invincible wall herself?

And you know very well:
There is no weapon more dangerous
Than love.
