My struggle with ptsd
Frank Anthony Cimino jr 1963 (cleveland, Ohio)
The darkness is all over, the smell, the taste, the thoughts still haunt. Life is death, death is life. The two are the same. It surrounds you, encompasses your very thought. Memories of brother, friend foe fall at your feet. The visions flash before your eyes, that never go away. Its as real today as it was yesterday. The struggle is real. The struggle is intense. Yesterday is today, today is yesterday. They join together as one. Dreams awaken your soul. You awaken yet the dreams, sometimes they stay sometimes they go. Break away from the moment, break away from the past the present. What is before is now. Your mind races thru the fog. You reach for what was there that isn't there. Reliving the past as if it is the present. Frightened, scared, should I run, should I hide, should I fight. Day is night night is day. Life as we know it no longer exists but lives in our mind.
