Maybe Just Maybe

The pain has made me cautious, The hurt has given me reasons not to trust, I have changed. I’m unsure I want to try again. So, maybe that means I need more time to heal or maybe I’ve learned that another man is not what I need.
Maybe that is what this means, maybe you were what I needed to accept this life. Maybe just maybe this was God’s plan all along.
Maybe I needed to love and maybe I needed to lose, Maybe just maybe this is God’s plan for me
Maybe I needed a hard lesson, Maybe I needed to be so broken, Maybe just maybe this is where healing begins
Maybe just maybe I needed to feel love to know love. Maybe I needed to lose to know loss. Maybe just maybe this is what molding feels like
Maybe I was wrong, Maybe it was never you where I belonged. Maybe just maybe I needed to see just that.
Maybe I looked at this all wrong, maybe I am seeing it all wrong now. Maybe just maybe
Yet, I know I love you so, but maybe just maybe one day that will all be gone.
I don’t dream about you much anymore, I don’t talk about you hardly so Maybe just maybe the love is fading.
I don’t cry when you ignore me anymore, I don’t reach out to tell you every little thing that goes on. Maybe just maybe I’m learning to let go.
I don’t walk past your house, I don’t try to see if your out. Maybe just maybe I’m finally breaking free.
When I seen you today, was not as hard nor did it hurt like it always did before. So maybe just maybe I am over you now.

About this poem

I wrote this after a few years of trying to let go of someone I fell in love with that did not want the same thing as me.
