In his labyrinth
Hamdan Kandi 2022 (Calicut)
In his labyrinth
He embarked to his hometown with zest
To quench his longing thirst
Adhering with him a teensy pest
He disembarked in where he throve
And expressed his congenital love
Beside him the pariah frolic ‘wow’
He stepped into his hansom
Said to horse “giddy up handsome”
Detouring his merriment to lament
They hurled to him a mask to prevent
Petrifying within charred walls
They incarcerated from his idols
With a toke by the window broke
Scribbled into his widowed book
"Silence is the tirade of devil
How did the waves of my song
Fought of the emptiness long
How much longer will i linger in-
this ado filled coop of labyrinth
Until it grooms me for my reunion"
I was just a kid when i read it first
Not knowing what it kept
Now it broke the serene with a colic
For what did the labyrinth groomed him
If it were for death
Did the angels of heaven took him
From them, did the angels of hell stole him
If it were for to be with his family
Was he able to smile again
Or did the delirium took over his vein
If it were to dissolve in his homeland
Did the pure hesitated to burn him
Or did it grouse for adhering the infection
I found myself cudgelling my brain
Into the labyrinth of pain
That only broken hearts know
