One last meet
Wandering the city like a stranger, desperate for the one I miss, just to see you one last time, but you don’t grant me this.
The streets, once filled with our laughter, today feeling barren and empty, with each step my heart bleeds, this you will never see.
Exhausted I knocked your door, the house we shared not long ago, I asked for somewhere to rest, never before had I felt so low.
On the doorstep I sat, you inside enjoying your power, me, weak, pathetic and hopeless, the minutes turning to hours.
Then came the rain and thunder, the skies felt my pain, I couldn’t face society’s questions, I did not want to explain.
With a heavy heart, I walked into the dark, my existence had no meaning, you had made your mark.
