The One and Only
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
There has only been one.
Born Lawrence Pertillar, Jr.
To have become,
Lawrence S. Pertillar.
Done in 1971.
Others to have come,
To believe it easy,
For them to masquerade and charade as me?
Flattered? I am not.
But to attempt to imitate,
Me to interpretate my contributions...
As a writer,
On other websites done to appreciate.
Leaves me left to discredit,
A faking of my creativity.
Only God knows is mine alone to originate.
And yes I am,
The one and only Lawrence S. Pertillar.
To make this known of my seriousness.
Respect me to do with a doing of research!
There is much of my work contributed.
Long before many websites,
And plagiarists discovered them.
To emulate their faking!
Of my undertaking.
That took my nearly a lifetime to develop.
And finding a way,
To communicate and say...
What it was I had been born to do.
When even I at a time many years ago,
Had no idea I would be defending...
To protect my poetry submissions.
As if they were,
My own.
Yet different to express themselves children.
And,
This I will admit there has been times...
Their opinions may be upsetting to hear.
But never will I deny,
Them all to be my opinionated children.
How can I?
When I love them all as they are to be.
My thanks to PoemHunter.com
And Poetry.com
Two of the best poetry websites.
On the internet.
