My Magnum Opus

I am an artist and all I want is more
More of recognition more of Louvre
I am a lonely man who shall die
If my painting is not hung by night
They said it takes a lot to succeed
Though, my soul is the only thing that I need
I am my own magnum opus
I should be the main focus!
I am now a part of my art
The reds you see in my painting is now my blood
All I wanted was my painting to be hung
Nonetheless, I'm the one who is swung
I am a happy man with tons of eyes on me
I got the recognition I wanted, oh finally!
Don't stand at my grave and cry
I am an artist and I do not die.

About this poem

It is about an filthy artist who wants nothing but his painting to be hung in Louvre. When it does not, he hungs himself in Louvre instead.
