The unnamed poem
Raj Chowdhury 1984 (Kolkata)
It was a moonlit night and the sky was clear;
She stood by the doorway, the winds waving through her hair;
With arms stretched and eyes stained with tear, her body in despair;
She had once asked me "would you take me home?"
Taking her hand in mine,
We had sailed the rivers of passion,
We climbed the mountains and found each other in the darkness of the caves,
Our hearts beating with the rhythm of the stars,
With souls held back by nothing but our own imagination.
It is a moonlit night once again,
I still see her by the doorway,
Like the ghost of an angel,
Her eyes like a bird,
Her body fading into the darkness.
The dream had attained silent peace,
I see her fly off into the fields of mist.
