Black

BLACK
How did we?
get to the conclusion that white is fair, and black unfair..
Steps we took but the efforts were mere.
Why did we?
know at their birth
that our colour defined we creatures,
when we have the same features. To break this chain of stetreotypes, did we take enough measures?
Why should we?
make up our minds that racism is right,
we dragged them to this plight.
And to save our own people we never provoke a fight.
How could we!?
let them suffer They sustained more than they could contain, and never had the right to complain. O Dear humanity, did you ever feel their pain?
About this poem
With such diverse people, and different mindsets, what one thinks may or may not be correct. From centuries, discrimination is prevailing in India on the basis of race, gender, caste and colour. One such discrimination amongst the people,is Racism-separating people according to their skin colour. The poem- Black talks about racism and how it creates a sense of being different among people of the same kind.
