Daddy’s lil princess
Holding her hand
He walked.
Tears bottled up
He struggled to keep his calm.
Head held high
He proudly escorted
His little girl
Down the aisle.
It was time for those little fingers
That once
Wouldn't let go off his hands
To be placed
Into the arms
Of his new son.
His own personal lucky charm
Who changed
His house into a home
Was now going
To build one of her own.
As the wedding bells rung
Wiping off his tears
He wrapped his hand
Around his wife
Who was all in
To pour down a river.
He sees nothing
But his girl’s smile.
He hears nothing
But her quite laughs.
Everything around
Slowly blurs out
As the reel of memories
Start playing in a loop.
He proudly remembers the moment
He first saw her,
A small little thing
Wrapped up whole
In a white blanket.
Today, there she stood
Right in front
All grown up
Elegantly wearing her white.
With tears of joy and sadness
He watched
As she drove away far
With the love of her life
His little princess
Was now a queen.
