The hyena poem.
The Hyena poem.
The Hyena's lot was not a happy one,
they skulked about looking for food in the hot, bright sun.
Their appearance made everyone , shiver with disgust,
when their spotted forms arose, from out of sand and dust.
They were miserable in life, always being rejected.
In the animal beauty stakes, they were never elected.
The grey elephant and striped Zebra, were liked best.
But people HATED them, ugly Hyenas, they'd detest.
So to cheer themselves up, Harry Hyena went to see
the cheeky, chattering chimpanzees!
Hoping he would find solace, in these brainy chimps in trees,
they were happy, swinging there, wild and free.
Charlie the chimp, clambered down to the ground.
He saw Harry Hyena, towards him, come, so he did bound.
The old, grey chimp whispered, into Harry's alert ears,
such a hilarious joke, Harry's eyes welled with tears!
Harry just laughed and laughed, told it to his mother.
She told a friend, he told it to another.
Soon the whole pack of hyenas, were laughing til dawn!
Howling and giggling, til they were tired and worn!
So if you see a group of Hyenas laughing, til long after dark,
It was the Chimp that started the hyenas laughing, at his remark!
